Greetings From Iceland!

Hello friends! As you may have guessed based on my previous post titled ‘And Off We Go!’, we have in fact flown to Iceland! We’re about two thirds of the way through our trip and I can’t say enough about this beautiful country! So, since the weather today is terrible and we are at a hotel with some good quality wi-fi, I thought I’d share a couple of photos and highlights!

Reykjavik is so charming! I decided to go for a walk the morning after we landed and happened to stumble upon Hallgrimskirkja! Tulips & A Terrier

Since we left the city and have been driving through the Icelandic countryside, I can’t stop feeling like I’m in a painting.  No, really.  Tulips & A Terrier

Or in a black and white photo. (Note: below is not actually a black and white photo..this is what it looks like in real life!).

We were at Dyrholaey on a cloudy day. The gray in the clouds reflected onto the water, and combined with the black sand, we really did feel like we were in a black and white photo! This has probably been my favorite stop so far. It had such a serene feel to it, and I felt as though I was walking through a  coffee table book.

Tulips & A TerrierI can’t get over the stark differences in the climate and landscapes across the country! One minute you’re looking at a steaming hot spring, the next there’s a volcanic beach with glaciers onshore. I’m not sure there’s anywhere else in the world you can experience nature in such full force. It’s been truly incredible.

I hope you enjoyed the few quick highlights! I have lots more pictures to share when we return!

Speaking of differences in landscapes – these are lava rocks! Driving through fields of these feels like driving through Mars. Tulips & A Terrier

Have you been anywhere amazing or otherworldly? I’d love to hear about it!

Thank you so much Sossy, much appreciated! Just noticed the heart as well. It would be tough to take a bad picture of this place, it’s unbelievable 🙂
